​​​​Who can borrow from the Library of Things?

Anyone with a valid TLN card may checkout items from our Library of Things. Some items may be limited to adults, 18 and up, only.

 

How to borrow from the Library of Things?

All items from the Library of Things are available in our online catalog. You can borrow only one Library of Thing per library card (exceptions are made for families who only use one library card) at any one time for a three-week period. You may place holds on our Library of things.

 

How to return your Library of Things?

Items must be returned to the inside of the library. Make sure all contents are placed back inside the box/container, and bring your item to the library's circulation desk. Items from the Library of Things collection may not be returned through the library book drop. This includes Hotspots!

 

Mobile Hotspots

• Mobile Hotspots check out for three weeks with no renewals.

• Lucky Day Hotspots check out for one week with no renewals or holds. Only one Hotspot can be checked out at a time per household.

• Once a Hotspot is returned, a patron may not check out another hotspot for 24 hours. They may place a hold.

• Overdue Hotspots will be deactivated within 24 hours after the due date.

  • First Offense: Patrons who return a hotspot after it has been deactivated, but it has not yet gone lost, are unable to check another one out for a week.

  • Second Offense: Patrons who return a hotspot two or more times after it has been deactivated, but it has not yet gone lost, are unable to check another one out for a month.

• Lost Hotspots

  • First Offense: Patrons whose hotspot has been deactivated and gone lost cannot check out another hotspot for 2 months.

  • Lost Hot spot Second Offense: Patrons whose hotspot has been deactivated and gone lost cannot check out another hotspot for 1 year.
