I have made my way through a large portion of "Good Riddance", I am currently in chapter 30. I have mixed feelings on this book. Will I end up liking this book or shall I say Good Riddance to it? There have been portions of it that I have been enthralled with and other parts I'm simply cringing through.
My problem primarily lies in Daphne. She is not a likeable character. At this point I can only assume that Daphne's character is unlikeable purposefully. Maybe her character flaws will all come into play later in the book? Do you like Daphne? Do you think it is Elinor Lipman's intention for Daphne to be unlikeable?
