Bacon Library's 2nd annual LOCK-IN night August 4, 2000
Each "teen"reader who completed 8 or more books was invited to our lock-in night.
30 students arrived at 8PM. An entanglement activity helped to break the ice
High school students from Roosevelt and
Cabrini presented a mystery skit in the historic Ford-Bacon House. The skit was written by Bacon Page Eric Setzke.
After pizza and pop the group broke up and played board games, designed t-shirts and did a bead craft.
by 5AM the lights were turned off for some really
quiet time!
but 6am came too soon and it was time
to clean up, eat breakfast and wait for a ride home.
Jenny, Chris and Mandi: three of our fearless assistants.
Quotes from the tired but happy students:
"next year you have to come, it is so COOL!"
"Anne's words of wisdom: never go in the Bacon House after midnight!!"
"...I really wanna do it next year!"
"I'll be back"
"get a lot of sleep before the lock-in" "you get to go into the house and hear scary stories!"
"it's not over until the parents come."
By 7am the exhausted staff of Joann Hedger, Darlene Kilgore and Janet Cashin couldn't wait 'til the cars pulled away!
