Lock In 2004

Our 6th annual End-of-Summer-Reading-Program Teen Lock-In took place Friday, August 6th until early the following day.

We began our evening by dividing up into groups to participate in an ice breaker activity: Library Survivor! Each group of 4 people was asked to complete a task for which they earned points to be redeemed for prizes later in the evening.

Each team had to look up information on the library catalog to figure out where to go to get their clues.

This group's task was to write a help sign in Spanish in the "sand".

By answering trivia questions correctly, materials needed to build a raft could be won.

We're constructing a basket to carry our catch of "fish".

We became expert at administering first aid!

Catching birdies for dinner was quite challenging!

Ghost stories told at midnight in the tent were very popular.

You can't have a cookout without s'mores!

Crafts were a popular way to pass the hours.

Board games and card games were greatly enjoyed.

Improv skits were lots of fun.... and funny, too!

Although quiet time was our least favorite activity, relaxing with new friends and old isn't all bad!

Saturday morning finally dawned and the overnighters ate doughnuts and packed their things to await a ride home.

HUGE thank you's to Lindsey, Jenny, Eric, Elena, Krissy and Sheriff Darlene for their enthusiasm, patience and time! Lock-in couldn't happen without their devoted help year after year.
