Teen Lock - In 2008
Metamorphosis @ Your Library
10th Anniversary!
August 8th was the long awaited evening for this year's teen award: a night at the library.

58 teens ( a new record!) attended the night's festivities. We began with some icebreaker activities and an explanation of the agenda for the evening.
Then the fun got underway with Musical Chairs and Ping Pong at the library tables.

We celebrated the 10th anniversary of Bacon Library's Lock-in with trivia questions and a cake. Darlene, Jenny and Krissy have been chaperoning since the very beginning and Eric and Elena (in the background) have also assisted for many years. The lock-in couldn't happen without the gifted and enthusiastic assistance of these volunteers. Many thanks to those pictured as well as Jayne, Karen, and Kari!

After the group activities, we explored some of the other available pursuits, such as board games:

Wii Sports:

Playing online games and watching YouTube videos:

Singing karaoke:

Chatting with friends and catching up on reading:

And, of course, the highlight of every lock-in - ghost stories in the attic:

Some of the comments made by this year's participants:
...I really want to see a ghost - Rebecca
...Lock-In was a great way to make new friends - Amber
...Lock-In is the best overnight in the world - Kedrick
... You'll be so surprised on how you'll be up all night! - Kayla
... It was totally awesome! I loved it! - Chesney
...It is worth the effort to get in - Shane
...It is whigmaleery (look that up in the dictionary) - Hannah
...I'm coming next year! - Nina
So, we are looking forward to another great lock-in for 2009. Don't forget to sign up for the Summer Reading program beginning in June!
