RESEARCH SERVICE PROCEDURES
Bacon Memorial District Library
45 Vinewood
Wyandotte MI 48192

Library patrons are encouraged to come to the Local History/Genealogy Room themselves to do research. Library staff is available to provide assistance and guidance during our hours of operation. We are open Monday through Thursday from 10:00AM to 9PM; Friday and Saturday from 10:00AM to 5PM.

Researchers who are unable to come to the library, can make requests for information by telephone, fax, mail or e-mail. We charge a research fee of a minimum of $10.00. This fee covers up to 30 minutes of staff research and is payable at the time of the request. It also includes photocopying up to 10 pages and postage. Ten cents will be charged for each additional page copied.

We will search the various indexed sources available in the Local History collection. Payment of fees is necessary even if no records are found. If this is the case, a reply will be made listing all materials examined. If extended, in-depth searching is required, you will be referred to the Downriver Genealogical Society.

Please make check or money order payable to: Bacon Memorial District Library and send to the attention of the Local History Department at 45 Vinewood, Wyandotte MI 49192. In your request please be sure to include as much information as possible. Full names, dates and places of birth, marriage, death, parents' and siblings' names etc. will help ensure accurate results. PRINTING the names rather than writing will help us too.

Copies can also be made from some of the historic photographs in our collection. If you desire an actually print, we will have it made after we receive payment. Prices vary, depending on format and size.

If you have questions please call 734-246-8357 or e-mail whayden@baconlibrary.org
