The Boy Scouts of America cautions its units in the use of forums or
message boards on their websites. This is due to the freedom given to the
poster to post whatever they wish (almost) without restriction until a moderator
sees it. They therefore allow them, but do warn their units and say that they should be closely
watched.
I believe that between requiring a person to register before posting, moderators,
and built-in censoring which automatically covers up those "un-scouting" words, our forums
should be all right. I sincerley doubt a serious problem will arise.
However, this does not mean that I will hesitate to remove the forums, or tighten
posting restrictions should a repetitve problem show itself. Do not swear or use suggestive or other-
wise inappropriate language in the forum. Do so, and you accout will be deleted and your IP address banned.
All that aside, I'm very optomistic about the forums as a place to exchange opinions and information about venturing
and our crew. All are more than welcome to join and post. Keep it clean, and don't do anything stupid, and
you'll be fine.
