A fireside is a meeting where interested people can come and learn
about the Faith in a relaxed, informal and unpressured manner. Usually
a speaker makes a presentation on a topic, after which the audience
can ask questions, followed by fellowship. There is a fireside every
Friday at 8:00pm at the Detroit Baha'i Center.
There is also a fireside on the fourth Tuesday of every month at
7:30pm at the Taylor Community Library on Pardee Road, between Goddard
and Northline. For more information call (734)
479-6741 or e-mail: captnemo@wnol.net.
There are Baha'i Classes for children and adults (equivalent to
a Sunday School) every Sunday at 10:30am at the Detroit Baha'i Center
starting September 20. There is also a Sunday School in the downriver
area. For more information call (734) 479-6741
or e-mail: captnemo@wnol.net.
Every 19 days, the Bahá'í community holds what's called a Feast,
where the believers gather for spiritual nourishment, socialization
with each other, and consultation on the affairs of the community.
Due to the nature of the consultation, the Feasts are open only
to enrolled Bahá'ís in good standing. Interested Bahá'ís who will
be visiting the Metro-Detroit area may e-mail captnemo@wnol.net
or call (734) 479-6741 for more information.
Occasionally, a Bahá'í community will hold a Unity Feast, which
consists of the spiritual and social aspects of the regular Feast.
This allows non-Bahá'ís as well as Bahá'ís to attend. If you are
interested in attending a Unity Feast, please e-mail captnemo@wnol.net
or call (734) 479-6741 for more information.
Bahá'ís celebrate nine (9) Holy Days, all associated with significant
dates in the history of the Faith and its Central Figures. People
of all faiths are welcome. For details about the celebrations, call
(734) 479-6741 or e-mail captnemo@wnol.net.
