Bacon Memorial District Library-Thanksgiving Holiday Closed
The Library will be closed Thursday, November 24th through Sunday, November 27th.

The Friends Book Sale:
The Friends of Bacon Library offer an ever-changing selection of books
and other media for sale in the Library's multi-purpose room during library hours.
Drop In Chess Game Night:
Meet new challenging players, come and learn or just come and watch.
Every Thursday night from 7-9pm at Bacon Library. Chess is very relaxing

Guided Tour of Bacon House Saturday, November 5th.
Join us for a guided tour of the historic house that is home to
"Bacon Library. They are scheduled for the first Saturday of each
month at 10am. Drop by for a behind-the-scenes look at this city treasure!
Drop in Computer Help Every Monday until Nov 28th. from 12:30-2pm.
Patrons are welcome to drop by the library to receive more in-depth help from
one of our librarians with their computer related questions. Need help creating a resume,
applying for jobs online, or want to create an email address? Stop by and we will be
happy to assist you. No reservations required!
Baby Time: 0-18 months
The current 11 week session continues on Wednesdays through November, 30th.
from 10-10:20am. Boost your baby's brain power and have fun at
Bacon Library with each class. We request 1 caregiver per child

Toddler Time: 18-36 months and 1 caregiver
The 11 week session continues on Tuesdays or Wednesdays
through November 30th, at 11:00am. Its filled with short stories, songs
& movement activities. Sign up today by calling 734-246-8357.
Preschool Storytime: 11 week session continues
Tuesdays at 11:00 OR Wednesdays, at 1:00 pm through November 30th,
Both classes are alike, they are 30 minutes each and prepared for ages 3-5.
The session contains stories, simple games, songs and fingerplays.

National Gaming Day Saturday, Nov, 12th, from 1pm-3pm.
Join us for a fun filled afternoon of games! The whole family is invited
to play our collection of board games. We will also have Wii bowling
challenges and more! Snacks are provided.

Sit & Sew: Finish or start that quilting project
Wednesday, November 9th & 23rd. All skill levels are welcome to drop in
between 6:30 & 7:30pm. Come join Bacon's "Sit & Sew" every 2nd & 4th

Thanksgiving Table Decorations Adult class,Wednesday, Nov, 16th, at 7pm.
Reference librarian, Annie, will be teaching us how to make Glitter Gourds
for sparkly fall table centerpieces. Stop by for some crafting and conversation
and leave with your table decorations all ready for Turkey Day!
Teen Advisory Group: 6th Grade & up!

Students attending 6th grade and up are welcome to attend

Family Fun Night:
Join Bacon Library every 3rd Monday, November 21st, at 6:30pm.
We will be making photo centerpieces for the Thanksgiving table.

Friends of Bacon Library:
The Friends of Bacon Library welcomes new members to their meetings on Monday,
November 28th @ 7:00pm at the library. Come be a friend of the library they are a
vibrant group of volunteers.
"Giving Tree"
Starts Nov 28th through Dec 19th. The patrons of Bacon Library can bring in
new items such as: mittens/gloves, hats & scarfs and place them on the
giving tree. Many items are collected and delivered to local charities.
Lets keep this tradition of giving alive, come place your item(s) on the
giving tree today to help keep someone warm tomorrow!
Pets Need Comfort Too:
Begins Nov 28th through Dec 19th at Bacon Library.
There is a continual need for gently used but clean blankets, towels,
washcloths, bowls, leashes, collars, pet beds, food, etc. among local animal shelters.
Donations of all types of clean and new items, are being collected during library hours.
A box will be available for drop off then distributed to our local shelters.
