11th Annual Lock-in
@ Bacon Library
August 2009
Express Yourself @ Bacon Library!
46 teens converged on the library one Friday evening in August to spend the night. The Lock-In is a reward for actively participating in the summer reading program. As usual, we all had a marvelous time!

We began the night by passing out playing cards and dividing into 2 teams and playing a life size version of War. The pace was quick and the wars were exciting. It wasn't long before the sides were noticeably uneven. The participants were then divided randomly into 10 teams and directed to complete various tasks, earning points for the team along the way. A few of the tasks included Sculptionary, crafting wild and crazy hats, assembling a puzzle in record time, playing Wii darts, and designing a modern art painting for the multi-purpose room.

Then we enjoyed some refreshments.

Ghost stories in the attic at midnight are always a highlight of the evening.
The remainder of the evening was filled with board games, Wii games, computer time, karaoke, painting, henna tattoos, and time to talk with friends new and old.

Many, many, many thanks to our volunteer chaperones, who return year after year. We couldn't do it without your energy and enthusiasm. Hats off to Elena, Eric, Jenny, Krissy, Melissa, Rick, Darlene, and Jayne.
