Welcome to Wyandotte and

Bacon Memorial District Library

The Library has been an integral part of the community since 1886. Our home has been at this location since 1942, when the beautiful Bacon House was donated for use as a library. The historic home is open to the public and houses our magazine and local history collections, as well as meeting rooms and offices.

We offer a wide and ever-changing array of materials, programs and services, and through our affiliation with The Library Network and the statewide Mel Catalog, our resources are greatly expanded. If there are materials we don't own at our library, we can request them to be sent here for you from other sources at no charge. The information desk is staffed by knowledgeable librarians during all our open hours who may be contacted in person or via phone, email or chat to provide answers to any questions you may have.

Bacon Library is very pleased to be hosting one of our local government representatives in November. Representative Paul Clemente represents Michigan's 14th House district and will be at the library on Wednesday, November 19th from 4:00-6:00pm. We invite you to take this opportunity to share a cup of coffee and your questions, comments and concerns with your Michigan representative.

We also welcome Gracie the therapy dog this month. She will be here November 6th and 20th at 3:30pm for children to read to her. Whether your child is a great reader or having a tougher time, Gracie will be here to listen. Space is limited for each session and registration is required so register today!
